Veteran’s Day

I am very late posting this!  I have been really sick the past 3-4 days and wanted to do this over the weekend.

Garret wrote a letter to all Veterans saying why he was thankful.  I thought it was very sweet and right on point.

It says:  “Thank you for saving the day, thank you for fighting too and thank you for being brave.”

Team USA?

The boys have started wrestling this week.  They practice 3 nights a week through December and then will have 6 meets all over PA from Jan through mid Feb.

Mark your calendars, because on Jan 20th their meet will be at the high school in Mercersburg!!!

Hershey Park

What a fun day we had.  It was really nice, but the CROWDS were awful.  It must have taken us 45-60 mins to get through each ride.  Thankfully the boys are older and have enough patience now to deal with it.  They did the trick or treating and we even visited the Zoo, which by the way I hated.

Garret this year had a big fear of rollercoasters (as you can see from one of the pictures below).  Not sure where that came from, probably an age thing. While Broc LOVED them all and even went on the new Triple Drop Towers.  He and I did the biggest one, Hershey Tower.  Check out the video below

I think Aunt Chell will be taking them back for their holiday lights.

Next year they should be able to graduate from a Hershey Bar to a Twizzler!

I will miss him

The Pare family received some sad news back in June regarding Murphy.  He has been dx’d with liver cancer.

Not sure how long he has, but right now he is doing really well on the steroid the vet gave him.  He drinks a lot more water now (anywhere he can find it) and sleeps on my desk for most of the day, but he still likes to follow me around, play a little and is finally able to eat again (thanks to the steroid that has shrunk the tumor down).

Fingers crossed that we can keep him around for a few more months.

Friends

Gary, Carol and the girls have been coming up on Sundays to hang out with us and help out around the house.  Gary was nice enough to cut down our cherry tree (HA!).  It had died last year, but we just had not had time to do it ourselves.  With the 4 of us, we knocked it out really fast.   Carol has also been bringing us really yummy food.  Again, I can’t thank them enough.  It has giving me a chance to step out and go work on mom’s house and do other things I have not been able to get done.

Tony expanded the MX track behind the barn, so now he and Gary have a ton of space to ride.
