Up, Up and Away!

We were having some repair work done on the chimney (It was literally falling apart and probably would not make it through the winter), so needed a boom lift.  Tony gave the boys a ride!

Hammer Heads Hockey

Broc was asked to move up from his normal 9 AM Saturday in house class/league to an actual team a few weeks ago.  He was invited to come to a practice and decide if he wanted to join the 18U Hagerstown Hammer Heads.  He is too old for the 12U and they were not able to form a 14U this season, so they have a mix of 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 on one team.  They have a very specific number that they have to field for this special mix (18 players and 2 goalies).  Broc went and LOVED it and said that he definitely wanted to play for them.  Then I got an email from the director a few days later saying that they had not counted right and were over the allowed number of players.  🙁  Broc took it very well.  I am always proud of how the boys handle their selves and this was not no surprise that he took this bad news in stride.  After a few emails and a phone call – I was able to work out a deal and while he can not play in the games; Broc is able to continue to practice with the Hammer Heads and go to all of their games with the team.  He was happy with this and has been having a great time so far!!

Marching Band

Gman has joined the JBMS Marching band and is having a GREAT time.  Last Friday he has his very first event at the JBHS Homecoming game.  It was a quick couple of mins, but he did so good.  Next up is this Saturday at the Mercersburg Townfest.  They will not be marching, but will play a couple of songs and then play a song with the high school marching band.

Tubing Trip 2022

We had a wonderful, wild weekend in WV at the cabin.  No tubing actually happened (minus the kids floating around in front of the cabin), but we had a great time sitting in the river, riding bikes and hanging with great friends. PLUS…..we could not have asked for better weather.

It was hot!

I bought this Paqui chip from Rutter’s last week for the boys to try.  They are always talking about how they want to grow Carolina Reapers and other really hot peppers.  The Paqui chip is a 1 chip contest and turns your tongue blue to prove you ate it.  You literally could smell it through it’s sealed packaging like pepper spray.  :/

They all split the chip 3 ways.  They all put on their brave faces adn Tony ate his first and tried to be as stoic as possible, Broc ate his and danced in place and sweated like crazy and Gman ate his and immediately spit it out.

There was a lot of milk drank that day and they all agreed not to try it again!

7th Grade and almost 13!

We had back to school night last Monday and the boys went back to school last Thursday.  So far the boys seem to really love their teachers (I really liked them as well), but the 3 of us already hate the homework.  :/  Going to be a long year!!!
